Lies Students Tell Their Teachers

LIE: I clearly understand this assignment is very important and that's why I started working on it weeks ago. TRUTH: I have no idea what assignment you're talking about.

LIE: Of course, I'm super ready for the exam we're having next week! TRUTH: Oh, right. Exam. Will definitely prepare for it. Maybe tomorrow or the day after.
LIE: I find this subject very interesting and inspiring! TRUTH: I may have taken a nap during your class a couple of times.
LIE: I didn't do it! TRUTH: You can put me to torture, but I won't confess. Ever!
LIE: I spent the whole weekend at the library preparing for the exam. TRUTH: I was on my way to the library when I met my friends. The only thing I've learned this weekend was the devastating result of sleep deprivation.
LIE: Thank you for the great advice! It really helped me a lot! TRUTH: No matter what you say, I'll do it my own way.
LIE: I've read the book for today's class and really enjoyed it. TRUTH: I've found a film adaptation and watched it while eating very unhealthy food.
LIE: I never use Wikipedia for writing my papers. TRUTH: Wikipedia is my home page.
LIE: Nobody helped me to write this essay. I did it on my own. TRUTH: I asked my elder sister to write it for me. I don't even remember the title.
LIE: I think it's time for me to become more responsible and bring out my full potential. From now on I'll be the best student in your class. TRUTH: My mother's going to kill me if my grades don't get better.
LIE: I can't turn in my paper today because I've found some secret information during my research and I'm having a meeting with CIA this afternoon. TRUTH: CIA will arrest me for coming up with such a terrible excuse.
LIE: I promise to impress you with my next paper. TRUTH: I hope I won't fail as much as I did this time.
LIE: I definitely turned this paper in. You must have misplaced it. TRUTH: I will write it with the speed of light as soon as I get back home.
